DANIEL SON, 36 CYPHER, FUTUREWAVE,
AS THE CROW FLIES
As The Crow Flies
After releasing one of the best projects of 2022 with Son Tzu & The Wav.God, Futurewave and Daniel Son link up again on newly composed project, alongside 36 Cypher for the 30 minutes duration of this body of work.
It's titled As The Crow Flies, a 11-tracks tape, and solely features Family Gang Black.
Futurewave is someone I admire, in his approach to making music sound so ominous, and working so well with every artist he works with. On Promise Land, the beat is both very menacing and threatening, whilst Daniel Son and 36 Cypher capture their hunger through their spellbinding verses.
It was only just a couple of months ago when 36 Cypher worked alongside Futurewave on Hell Sweet Home, which led me to believe more heat was on the way, as the 12-tracks project, which featured Falcon Outlaw, Asun Eastwood and Daniel Son contained nothing but fire.
It was only right to look forward to this new project as we are midway through the month of July, and As The Crow Flies does not disappoint. Futurewave's production keeps on getting better through its many layers, and it's clear as daylight that he is able to master a lot of sounds, depending on who he works with.
Some of the beats, such as on Johnny Green and Ghostline, are intimidating, and Daniel Son delivers flawless verses, whilst 36 Cypher sounds terrifying through his texts and cadences.
I particularly enjoyed some songs more than others in different regards, Criss Foams sounds so much different than the rest of what we hear, and I find Futurewave's production incredible, as we are captivated through the incredible instrumental whilst not missing a single bar from both rappers. As this particular song ends, T-Bone Steak follows, and sounds, again, different from the majority of the album through its beautiful and clairvoyant production.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the project, 36 Cypher and Daniel Son both had very complex lyrical schemes, and supported each other, where you can sense that their chemistry is getting up to the mark.
