Make it stand out

PINK SIIFU, REAL BAD MAN

REAL BAD FLIGHTS

Real Bad Flights by Pink Siifu & Real Bad Man

After releasing Looking for Water featuring Boldy James at the end of August, Pink Siifu put out Pour the Wine featuring Peso Gordon and Chuck Strangers just a week prior to 'Real Bad Flights' coming out today, although the bootleg version released by the rapper from Alabama was released just a few days ago. This is Real Bad Man and Pink Siifu's first project together, and includes an impressive list of guests with the likes of Piper GKFAM, Armand Hammer, Conquest Tony Phillips , Amani, Ahwlee, Ez & Kari Faux, lojii as well as the artists that could be heard on the two already released tracks.

The project opens up with Real Negro Life, my initial reaction to the sound of the song is almost indescribable, both the instrumental and the artists' performances are catchy but mysterious and enigmatic all at the same time. There's a clear feeling here that Pink Siifu and Piper GKFAM approach the track with logical awareness of it all, the perception of the track and message that they want to convey are ones that they see fit to be morally judgeable, accompanied by Real Bad Man, whose production throughout the project is astounding.

The first single of the body of work was Looking for Water featuring Boldy James, the track remains very calm and soothing until the Detroit native accelerates the tempo, which Real Bad Man reciprocates over a beautifully crafted instrumental. The contrast in sounds between Pink Siifu and Boldy James is refreshing to hear and one that we'll wanna hear more of.

Tokyo Blunts is sonically much different from the first two tracks, Real Bad Man's production is out of this world on this one, the drums sound so essential over the flute-serenade-like instrumental, and not overshadowed by each performance on the track-. If anything, it is a track that can be savoured, in order to really appreciate all of its layers, from when the beat switches up as Conquest Tony Phillips spazzes over the flawless production in which the transition was perfectly achieved to Armand Hammer's now irreproachable work ethic, it is a delightful track throughout.

Afro Russian features Amani and has a very ominous feel to the track, as the drums speed up, I can hear a subtle sample over the second half of the track, where the transition once again feels so smooth. Both artists kill their verses, but the standout performances so far hails from Real Bad Man who has given us flawless production so far.

View of Paris featuring Ahwlee is simply sumptuous, elegant, and everything that I love about great artists working together, to find a recipe that pleases. The additional French vocals make for an intricate song and the production at the end of the song is the cherry on top.

Off the Plane features Ez & Kari Faux and has a very futuristic feel to its production yet sounds like something hailing out of Disco and Funk music from the 80s. And at the same time, it sounds like a track that comes straight from the Bay, Ez and Kari Faux bring their personal touch to the song, and it is once again so refreshing to hear.

Real Bad Flights is a wonderful body of work as a whole, the second single with Peso Gordon and Chuck Strangers is soothing, Po Drama featuring Lojii is simply exceptional with various approaches to the instrumental, the rhythm is ever so catchy, and on Real Bad Gosepl, Pink Siifu delivers over some personal space, speaking about women, shows and his friends.

There isn't one track that stands out in terms of quality, but my personal favourites are View of Paris, Tokyo Blunts, and Afro Russian in that particular order.
